About Us<\/h1>\n\t\t

“Worlds Meet Japan” was formed in 2010 to secure the success and future running of the World Music and Dance Festival<\/h3>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

We believe in the power of mixing different worlds and different people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWorlds Meet Japan\u201d is officially registered with the Japanese government as a non-profit \u201cGeneral Incorporated Association\u201d (GIA), and is supported by volunteer townsfolk from all walks of life in Hakodate City. We all have full-time jobs or study outside our community work.  Some funds come from the city each year, but the bulk of our budget is covered by sponsorship and by ticket sales. Any proceeds of events go towards transformational social and educational projects locally and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n

Japanese has the expression \u201cichi-go ichi-e\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It describes the magic that can arise from chance meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We try to create these opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            We make physical meeting and intellectual meeting spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                We specialise in events with a little character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                    We have a crazy dream of a \u201cWorld Expo for Ideas\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
