Moat’s Art 2020 Closes

Thanks to all for the big experiment of “Moats Art 2020”. We exceeded expectations. On that drizzly day in June when we ran a trial, we could not have imagined all the new people and worlds we would meet. Thanks to all who came together to make over 20 live performances possible. Especially, all the volunteer staff, and our main collaborators at the Hakodate Yagai Geki. The year’s typhoons came close enough to Hakodate to keep us all busy taking down and putting up flags… “Unpredicability” was the key word right to the end. Who knows what surprises wait in store for us between now and next summer…? We hope that you will join us in looking out for unique opportunities.

Flags Curtain Call

We are taking down our art installation early so that we can survive Sunday’s typhoon effects for another year. The flags have graced Goryokaku with a new look, and helped us view these uncertain times in different ways. The Moat’s Art finale that was planned for Sunday will also sadly be curtailed. Saturday will be the final day of this year’s event. We hope you all enjoyed this new perspective…
